This is a canonical quote, and it’s rather lovely. It’s from the Samyutta Nikaya, and in Bhikkhu Bodhi’s translation you’ll find it on page 708:
“We will develop and cultivate the liberation of mind by lovingkindness, make it our vehicle, make it our basis, stabilize it, exercise ourselves in it, and fully perfect it.” The Buddha Click To Tweet“Therefore, bhikkhus, you should train yourselves thus: ‘We will develop and cultivate the liberation of mind by lovingkindness, make it our vehicle, make it our basis, stabilize it, exercise ourselves in it, and fully perfect it.’ Thus should you train yourselves.”
I’m new to learn about what the Buddha says. I love this quote and it is very much indeed and fit for this time of the season. Thank you for sharing. By the way, i’m wondering if you can verify the following qoute, I found in other website.
Original: “Sabbe Dhamma vedana samosarana”
Translation: anything that arises in the mind starts flowing as a sensation on the body.”
I’m very interested in what Buddha says about vibrations and sensations.
